Finnish Parliament Members from the Environment Committee visits Soletair Power

Today we had the pleasure of receiving distinguished guests when the Environment Committee of the Finnish Parliament visited Lappeenranta and got acquainted with three climate innovation companies: Afstor, Soletair Power, and Elstor Oy. The guests included former Prime Minister of Finland Juha Sipilä and former Minister Kai Mykkänen.

Co-founder Ari Piispanen and Chairman of the Board Kimmo Rauma shared valuable insights about the three cleantech companies from Lappeenranta. Members of the parliament were particularly impressed by the fact that Afstor Solar Home and Cooker system makes concrete CO2 emission reductions and an economic mechanism (emission offset) makes solar cookers available for rural families in Zambia. The emission-free steam and heat solution of Elstor was recognized as one part in the road to carbon neutrality in industrial and heat production. They also highly praised the omnichannel initiatives Soletair Power is taking to scale Direct Air Capture across continents to capture the carbon dioxide from the air, making buildings have negative emissions and contributing to stopping the climate disaster.
